Palo Alto Networks Inc. (PANW), is the leading security platform specialist in the world, listed on the NYSE and headquartered in Silicon Valley, California USA.
 

In April 2014, PANW acquired the Tel Aviv based company Cyvera; a start-up specialized in preventing cyber-attacks on mobile devices like tablets and smartphones.
 

Niels joined PANW in July 2014 as interim controller and project manager, being responsible for the implementation of the localized version of SAP for the acquired Israeli company, the streamlining and alignment of processes and change from an in-house accounting approach to a more hybrid model, where various accounting activities were transferred to a third party.
 

Niels built up a team consisting of third party local IT advisors (PWC), SAP experts and subject matter experts from our HQ office and some participants from our accounting firm. He did an excellent job in deploying various project management tools. The project environment in Israel was sometimes difficult and regardless the big change he succeeded in getting the milestones delivered in time.
 

A few months after his arrival we had a very successful go live of our Israeli SAP system without any issues. Soon after that, PANW established another entity in Israel for which Niels also successfully managed the SAP implementation. During his time with PANW and next to his work as project manager, Niels also was responsible for hands-on managing the daily accounting operations of the two Israeli entities, both in line with local GAAP and US GAAP. He made sure the new accounting partner was trained and up to speed with regards to SAP knowledge and that they operated in line with the corporate policies. He successfully ensured that the corporate closing deadlines were met and risks and issues were mitigated.
 

Niels showed that he is very successful in handling complex projects in a hectic high demanding environment and he proved to be a great contributor to the team.
